Monday Night Social Hour
Our community park at Hidden Hills is a great neighborhood gathering place. Every Monday night from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. residents gather at Hidden Hills Park to socialize and get to know our neighbors. Occasionally, the event moves to private homes during inclement weather, or times are adjusted due to darkness. The gathering is an informal, “come as you are,” outdoor, BYOB event with many coming in golf carts. An email reminder is sent out every Sunday. Contact Jack Moran if you would like to receive these emails.

Wine glasses and reservations are handled by the Wine and Dine committee. The group maintains an email list and invitations go out by Evite.

Bunco
BCL is fortunate to have two Bunco groups. Each group meets on a different day. Ladies meet one evening a month at individual homes to play Bunco. A light supper is provided by the hostess for that month. The groups maintain their list of regular players as well as a list of ladies who would prefer to play as substitutes. Bunco is a very easy-to-play dice game.

Gentle Yoga
Tuesdays at 8:30 - 9:30 a.m. at Hidden Hills Park [weather permitting]
Taught by a member of the community, this class for folks who need to increase balance and stability and may have some physical limitations that make it necessary to practice slowly and with focus. Designed for total beginners and those who want a better understanding of how yoga can help us age gracefully. Emphasis is on supported poses that increase mobility and strength of the neck, shoulders, spine and legs, and chest opening for optimal breathing.
You need not bring anything except an open attitude. If you have your own mat, please bring it. This style of yoga is much more therapeutic so you will learn things that will help you as you age. So, if you’re stiff, you NEED to come to this class.
Not held when teacher is traveling. First visit, please contact teacher.

Mah Jongg
There are two Mah Jongg groups in BCL. The groups play with Mah Jongg tiles from the National Mah Jongg League. Everyone is welcome to join, and you need not have or buy a game set to join. We often hold training sessions and beginner (slow tables). New cards are issued yearly in the spring. Current cards can be ordered at nationalmahjonggleague.org.
The Monday Mah Jongg tends to be for players who have some experience. The group meets at members’ homes on a rotating basis from 1:00 p.m.–5:00 p.m.

The Thursday afternoon Mah Jongg group is a casual group that meets at 1:00 p.m. at the Club. This group welcomes beginners and those who want to learn to play. You need not be a BCL Club member—a club member will invite you as a guest. RSVP the night before so the Club can arrange the appropriate number of tables.

Dining Divas
Love to cook? Or rather, to eat?
Join your neighbors in the ‘hood’ for monthly luncheons. Dining Divas take turns hosting luncheons typically on the second Monday or Tuesday of the month. Each hostess sets her attendance limit, usually between 15 and 30, and attendance is first come, first served. Hostesses provide the theme, home, dinnerware and a specialty drink. There are no specific guidelines on themes or recipes. In addition hostesses can choose a charity that participants can support. The group sends Evites with details for each luncheon to those who have signed up.

Sisters on the Same Page
Our Barton Creek Lakeside book club meets monthly at the Club. Club membership is not required to join. Our members set our book selections for the year – fiction and non-fiction. We gather at the Club at 11:30am on the 3rd Thursday of the month for lunch and share our thoughts and opinions about what we’ve read. While reading the book is preferable, we understand that sometimes it doesn’t happen and that’s okay too. If you haven’t read the month’s selection, join us for lunch anyway since we end up sharing our thoughts and opinions about things other than books as well. The group maintains an email list and invitations go out by Evite.

Retired Old Men Enjoying Outdoor Sports (ROMEOS)
Welcome to the ROMEOS! We’re a fun group. Serious golfers are more than welcome, but please note that we play to have fun. We are an organized group of men who enjoy playing golf on a regular basis and look for a fun social time while on the course.
Most of our players’ handicaps range from 10 - 20. The group plays three times a week: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday starting around 8:30 a.m. in the warmer months and 10:00 a.m. during the cooler months, based on the earliest tee time made for that day. We play from the Blue or Green tees, but players may choose to play from the White tees if more comfortable hitting from there. Handicaps are adjusted accordingly.
ROMEO games are always team games, your team vs. another. Friendly wagers are $5-$6 max. Teams are picked at random so we can meet as many members as possible.Wednesdays we usually play a quota game. Tuesdays and Fridays – TBD depending onwhether we have 3-, 4-, or 5- somes.
We play “ready golf” to keep the pace going, while adhering to other USGA rules and goodgolf etiquette. Each player enters his score into GHIN in a timely manner.
- No dues, just add your name to one of the tee times made by a ROMEO through ForeTees or ask the pro shop to add you to one of the tee times.
- Meet your neighbors, have a few laughs on the course and enjoy lively discussionof world events in the men's lounge following play.

The Lakeside Dogfight
The Lakeside Dogfight is a team quota and skins golf game that is held every Thursday at Lakeside. Golfers sign up as a single or twosome. The Pro Shop will pair you with other players or create your own team of three to five players.
Teams may consist of men, women, or both! For the first three Dogfights you participate in, quotas will be determined by subtracting the handicap from 36, and the score will be limited to three points away from your quota. By playing three times, the quota is established as the average of the last three-point totals. Players will receive one point for a bogey, two points for a par, four points for a birdie, and eight points for an eagle. Teams that finish in the top 25% receive cash payouts. Be sure to put this on your weekly calendar. Call in your team by 10 a.m. each week! Barton Creek Club Guest policy states that a guest may play at Barton Creek one time in a 30-day period so bring a different friend every week!
